Critic's Review
Illy Cafe is the Starbuck's alternative located between the Palazzo and Venetian hotels. The line here tends to be shorter than the Venetian Starbuck's line, and the coffee is arguably better.
One bad thing is that they also sell gelato, and service is quite slow. All of these people on line were getting gelato, and you have to wait to order coffee until they've all decided what flavors they want.
They have a good cold brew, and you get to cream it yourself. So no fear that the counter person is going to charge you for cream like they do sometimes at the other place
They get a low service grade for 2 reasons. Twice I got a really crappy pour; a load of ice and a not full cup, and also they have their CC pinpad set up to default to 20% tip and you can easily think you're leaving no tip and get charged the 20%.
Tipping overpaid counter-people to give you too much ice and not enough coffee is stupid.
